What Has Gone Wrong?

Life after ROM wasn't as happy as I thought
Been optimistic
Been giving lots of chances thinking things would get better
But it hasn't
What has gone wrong?

Been asking myself have I chose the wrong one
Been thinking he wasn't the one I desired
I know this shouldn't pop up in my mind
What has gone wrong with my life?

Tried not to think about things that cannot be undone
Tried my best to accept everything about him
Tried to swallow my tears
And told myself everything will be fine

Baby, you are mommy's strength to move on
Please grow up healthily and happily
Nothing else mommy would demand
Mommy will try to give you the best

I love you, baby!

Birth of the Precious Princess 01/10/2012

Contractions begin every 5 mins on 30/09/2012 (Sunday) 1:20am
Being suggested by the midwife to take some paracetamol
Little blood loss at about 3am
Being asked to go to the hospital to have a check

Was only dilated for 1cm
Little water loss
Being given paracetamol
Being transferred to the ward

Pains get so much stronger
Hardly sleep
Sweating
Drowsy because of stronger pain killers given

5cm dilated at about 9.30pm
Was pushed into the labour room
Was given stronger pain killers - gas and air
Makes me dizzy and sleepy

After few hours, it's 01/10/2012 (Monday)
Was dilated to only 8cm
Given some medicine to empty bladder and bowel
Does not work well

Being suggested for stronger pain killers - epidural
Where a needle is put on my back
Which makes the bottom half of my body numb
Finally fully dilated at about 1.00am

The numbed half bottom of my body makes pushing baby out harder
Tried pushing for an hour
Did not work out
Being suggested to move to the theater

Baby's position checked - was not right for pushing
C section being suggested

At 3.11am
Here comes the sound of my princess crying, weigh 3.03kg
Tears burst
Really happy

Hugging her while stitches being done
First breast feeding given at about 4.30am
Was later being pushed to the ward
While baby was taken for vitamin K injection

Because of the long loss of water
Baby was having risk of infection
Needed antibiotic medication for days
Till blood report shows no bugs

Stayed at the hospital till 04/10/2012 (Thurs)
Did not manage to get sleep every night
Baby wants feed almost every hour
And wants cuddle to sleep

Labouring took me 18 hours
No matter how hard it is during the hospital stay
Is worth of after looking at my sweet princess

I love you baby!

What Can I Do To Make Life Better?

Indeed life is full of ups and downs
And yes I am at the most down now

Financial problem at this time is not fun
Baby arriving soon
Everything is just in mess
Nothing can be done apart from wiping tears off days and nights

No one to speak to
Few could help out
What can I do to make life better?

Tummy: 38.8 inches
It is 6.5 months now
My weight has gone up by 7kg
Is that normal?

Curious that midwife here does not measure my weight
and the size of my tummy

Another 3 more months
Soon I could see my baby
Eager about it
Hope everything goes well

Prenatal Education

Prenatal education is important as baby's senses are developing during his time in the womb. This is a process that encourages learning in unborn babies optimizing mental and sensory development. Sound will be his primary source of stimulation, touch, vision, taste and even smell will also help his brain to grow.

Prenatal education at different stages:
Month 3 & 4 (Week 9-16): Nutrition i.e balanced diet as mentioned previously for babies brain development.

Month 5 (Week 17-20): Music to stimulate your baby. Twice a day. 20-30 minutes each time. Once babies develop hearing in the fifth month, music is excellent for aural stimulation and to soothe the baby. To stimulate fetus' hearing, you can talk or put a melodious music (lively, soft, poetic) near your belly. Additionally, you can communicate with your child through touch; whenever you feel a kick, touch the opposite side (this is the place where the head is) and caress the area while you speak. *Avoid high frequency and loud music as these will harm your baby's hearing.

Month 6 (Week 21-24): Exercise
1. Morning walk
2. Toe movement - Two feet flat on ground while sitting on a chair. Tilt your toes and put them down. Repeat the movement and make sure your feet do not leave the ground.
3. Ankle movement - Sitting on a chair with one leg on top of the other. Keep the bottom one flat on the ground. Move your ankle up and down for several times. Vice versa.
4. Rub the soles of your feet - Put one feet on top of the other leg. Use left hand to rub soles of your right feet in a circle movement. Vice versa.
5. Knee-chest position - This is to put the fetal into the correct position. After emptying your bladder, in relaxing clothing, kneel on the bed with thigh and bed forming a 90 degree. Bend your body towards the bed repeatedly for 15 mins. Twice a day.

6. Sitting cross-legged

7. Standing
8. Abdominal breathing

Month 7 (Week 25-28): Language: Speak to your baby. Contents are unlimited. You can greet, chat, tell stories, sing, etc. Be simple and easy. For eg, repeating some simple word like milk, dry, wet, mouth, etc. In addition, some systemic induction of the language can be used such as "Good morning, baby.", "Wash your face", "Brush your teeth", "Baby, the chicken smells so good!", "Listen, this is the sound of water, mummy is bathing!"

Month 8 (Week 29-32): Music

Month 9 &10 (Week 33-40): All

First Trimester: Week 1 - 13

Exciting little secret was being known in week 6.
It was really agitate when seeing the double line on the pregnancy test.
During the first trimester, feeling of hungry is horrible where I felt extremely hungry as if I never had any food for a week.
Sickness, always tired, sore breasts and nose bleeding are also the symptoms.
All these eventually fade away and begin to be normal on week 20.
Information from Bounty, Pampers, Aptamil and midwife are surrounding me.

During trimester 1, folic acid supplement and healthy diet are very important.
Folic acid supplement is suggested to be taken at least a month before conception and continue for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy according to doctor's advice.
Sources of folic acid:
1. Brussels sprouts, spinach, asparagus, spring greens, broccoli, curly kale or beetroot; Don't overcook the vegetables as this destroys the folic acid.
2. Blackberries, raspberries and satsumas
3. Brown rice
4. Yeast and meat extract spreads
5. Peanuts, hazelnuts, cashews, walnuts and sesame seeds
6. Some bread and breakfast cereals

Balanced diet:
1. 5 servings of fruit and vegetables every day
2. Fish twice a week, including one portion of oily fish. *Avoid shark, marlin or swordfish
3. Don't eat pate, raw or cured meats, blue-veined cheese, cheese with a mouldy or white rind, raw seafood and liver products
4. Don't drink alcohol
5. Cut down on caffeine. *No more than two cups a day
6. Take pregnancy multivitamin. *I got it from midwife for 95p a bottle which contains 50 tablets
7. Don't go on diet
8. Try not to eat junk food

Week 20

Getting the real feeling of pregnancy
Where the bump is getting bigger
Where the movement of little one can be felt so clearly (treating me like a football)
And the increased frequency of movement

Went for the lengthy anomaly scan which takes about 40 mins
Little one's face feature is getting clearer
Hands and legs are getting longer
It is really excited seeing own's precious growing healthily
