It was really agitate when seeing the double line on the pregnancy test.
During the first trimester, feeling of hungry is horrible where I felt extremely hungry as if I never had any food for a week.
Sickness, always tired, sore breasts and nose bleeding are also the symptoms.
All these eventually fade away and begin to be normal on week 20.
Information from Bounty, Pampers, Aptamil and midwife are surrounding me.
During trimester 1, folic acid supplement and healthy diet are very important.
Folic acid supplement is suggested to be taken at least a month before conception and continue for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy according to doctor's advice.
Sources of folic acid:
1. Brussels sprouts, spinach, asparagus, spring greens, broccoli, curly kale or beetroot; Don't overcook the vegetables as this destroys the folic acid.
2. Blackberries, raspberries and satsumas
3. Brown rice
4. Yeast and meat extract spreads
5. Peanuts, hazelnuts, cashews, walnuts and sesame seeds
6. Some bread and breakfast cereals
Balanced diet:
1. 5 servings of fruit and vegetables every day
2. Fish twice a week, including one portion of oily fish. *Avoid shark, marlin or swordfish
3. Don't eat pate, raw or cured meats, blue-veined cheese, cheese with a mouldy or white rind, raw seafood and liver products
4. Don't drink alcohol
5. Cut down on caffeine. *No more than two cups a day
6. Take pregnancy multivitamin. *I got it from midwife for 95p a bottle which contains 50 tablets
7. Don't go on diet
8. Try not to eat junk food
